การวิเคราะห์การกลั่นกรองเป็นการทดสอบว่าผลกระทบของตัวทำนาย X ต่อผลลัพธ์ Y เปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามระดับของตัวแปรที่สาม W ซึ่งเป็นตัวกลั่นกรองหรือไม่ การประมาณค่านี้ทำได้ภายในกรอบการถดถอยผ่านเทอมปฏิสัมพันธ์ X×W ซึ่งได้รับความนิยมจาก Aiken & West (1991) และ PROCESS macro ของ Hayes (2018)
