การค้นหารูปทรงโครงสร้าง (Structural Form-Finding) เป็นวิธีการคำนวณเพื่อค้นหารูปทรงเรขาคณิตของโครงสร้างที่มีประสิทธิภาพภายใต้ภาระและข้อจำกัดที่กำหนดไว้ เฮนซ์ เชค (Heinz Schek) เป็นผู้บุกเบิกในปี ค.ศ. 1974 โดยวิธีนี้เป็นการย้อนกลับกระบวนการออกแบบโครงสร้างแบบดั้งเดิม: แทนที่จะกำหนดรูปทรงไว้ล่วงหน้าแล้วจึงวิเคราะห์ว่ามีความแข็งแรงเพียงพอหรือไม่ การค้นหารูปทรงจะเริ่มต้นด้วยภาระและเงื่อนไขการรองรับ และได้มาซึ่งรูปทรงที่เหมาะสมที่สุดที่ลดการใช้วัสดุให้เหลือน้อยที่สุดในขณะที่ยังคงเป็นไปตามข้อกำหนดด้านความปลอดภัย
