Uchambuzi wa njia na athari za kushindwa kulingana na hatari (RBFMEA) ni mbinu ya uhandisi iliyopangiliwa inayobainisha kila njia ambayo mfumo au mchakato unaweza kushindwa, inatathmini hatari ya kila hali ya kushindwa kwa kutumia Namba ya Kipaumbele ya Hatari (RPN = Matukio × Ukali × Ugunduzi), na kuweka kipaumbele hatua za kurekebisha ipasavyo. Ikitokana na MIL-STD-1629A na kusawazishwa katika IEC 60812:2018, ni zana kuu ya kuzuia mapema ya kuegemea na usalama katika tasnia za anga, magari, dawa, na utengenezaji.
