Ulinganifu wa Kibayesiani huutibu ulinganifu wa mfuatano wa kibiolojia (DNA, RNA, au protini) kama tatizo la kuhitimisha uwezekano badala ya utatuzi wa uhakika. Badala ya kutoa ulinganifu mmoja bora, huchukua sampuli kutoka kwa usambazaji wa nyuma juu ya ulinganifu wote unaowezekana ikizingatiwa modeli ya mabadiliko na dhana za awali za adhabu ya pengo, hivyo basi kuhakiki kutokuwa na uhakika wa ulinganifu. Ni muhimu sana pale ambapo uchanganuzi wa baadaye kama vile uhitimishaji wa mti wa jenetiki au uhakiki wa utendaji kazi unahisi sana makosa ya ulinganifu.
