Stohastički Markovljev model je tehnika simulacije koja predstavlja sistem kao skup međusobno isključivih zdravstvenih ili odlučujućih stanja, pomera kohortu (ili pojedinačne agente) kroz ta stanja koristeći probabilistički uzorkovane parametre prelaza i agregira ishode kroz hiljade Monte Karlovih iteracija kako bi se proizvele potpune raspodele verovatnoće nad troškovima, ishodima ili rangiranjima, umesto pojedinačnih procena.
