Teorija funkcionala gustine

Teorija funkcionala gustine (DFT) je računarska metoda za određivanje svojstava materijala i molekula modeliranjem osnovnog stanja elektronske gustine. Razvijena od strane Valtera Kona i Lu Dže Šama 1960-ih, DFT smanjuje složenost kvantne hemije sa praćenja koordinata pojedinačnih elektrona na optimizaciju ukupne elektronske gustine, omogućavajući efikasne simulacije velikih molekularnih sistema i sistema kondenzovane materije.
