Koalescentna teorija

Koalescentna teorija je probabilistički okvir koji prati genealošku istoriju DNK sekvenci unazad kroz vreme do njihovog najskorijeg zajedničkog pretka. Razvijena od strane Džona Kingmana 1982. godine, ova metoda čini osnovu moderne populacione genetike, omogućavajući istraživačima da razumeju demografske događaje, procene genetičke parametre i rekonstruišu evolucionu istoriju na osnovu modernih genetičkih podataka.
