Model protoka saobraćaja (LWR model)

Lighthill-Whitham-Richards (LWR) model je makroskopski model protoka saobraćaja koji tretira saobraćaj kao kompresibilni fluid, primenjujući princip očuvanja vozila i odnos protoka i gustine. Nezavisno su ga uveli Lighthill i Whitham (1955) i Richards (1956), a model predviđa širenje saobraćajnih talasa, formiranje zagušenja i ponašanje uskih grla na autoputevima.
