| Resumo≠ | Multilingual image classification trains visual models to recognise and label images when class names, supervision signals, or evaluation benchmarks span multiple languages. Enabled by multilingual vision-language models such as CLIP, it allows a single model to classify images using prompts or labels in any supported language, facilitating cross-cultural and cross-lingual deployment of computer vision systems. | Multilingual sentence embeddings map sentences from many languages into a single shared vector space so that semantically equivalent sentences — regardless of language — land close together. Models such as LaBSE, multilingual Sentence-BERT, and mUSE have made it practical to compare, retrieve, and classify text across 50 to 100+ languages without translating anything first. |
