Regularisert semi-veiledet læring legger til eksplisitte geometriske eller grafbaserte straffeledd til et semi-veiledet mål, slik at beslutningsfunksjonen varierer jevnt over datamanifolden. Pionert gjennom manifoldregularisering (Belkin, Niyogi & Sindhwani, 2006), utnytter den strukturen til både merkede og umerkede eksempler for å lære mer nøyaktige modeller enn rent veiledet regularisering alene når merkede data er knappe.
