Svakt veiledet forsterkningslæring (WSRL) trener agenter i miljøer der belønningssignalet er ufullkomment, sparsomt, forsinket eller bare delvis informativt – i motsetning til tett, fullt veiledet forsterkningslæring (RL). Agenten må lære effektive strategier til tross for ufullstendig tilbakemelding, ved å bruke hjelpesignaler, belønningsmodellering eller preferanselæring for å kompensere for den svake veiledningen.
