SammendragThe Particle-in-Cell (PIC) method is a powerful computational technique for simulating the dynamics of charged particle beams and plasmas in complex electromagnetic field configurations. By tracking individual macroparticles and self-consistently solving Maxwell's equations on a grid, PIC enables study of collective effects and nonlinear phenomena in beam and accelerator physics. The Matrix Element Method (MEM) is a powerful analysis technique that leverages quantum field theory amplitudes to extract maximum physics information from individual events. By comparing observed detector signatures to predictions from matrix elements, MEM provides unbiased, model-independent measurements with excellent theoretical precision and sensitivity to new physics.
