Negatiedetectie — Identificeren wat een tekst zegt dat niet gebeurde
Negatiedetectie is een taak binnen natuurlijke taalverwerking die negatie-aanwijzingen in tekst lokaliseert — woorden of zinsdelen zoals 'niet', 'zonder', of 'ontkent' — en de tekstspanne (de reikwijdte) bepaalt waarvan de betekenis door die aanwijzingen wordt omgekeerd. Geformaliseerd voor klinische tekst door Chapman et al. (2001) met het NegEx-algoritme en uitgebreid tot reikwijdte-leren in biomedische literatuur door Morante en Daelemans (2009), is de methode essentieel waar het verschil tussen de aanwezigheid van een bevinding en het expliciet uitsluiten ervan reële consequenties heeft.
