Granulair rekenen (Informatiegranulatie)
Granulair rekenen is een probleemoplossend paradigma dat informatie verwerkt in 'granules' — groepen van objecten die door ononderscheidbaarheid, gelijkenis of functionaliteit worden samengebracht — in plaats van op het niveau van individuele datapunten. Gearticuleerd door Lotfi Zadeh in 1997 als fuzzy information granulation en ontwikkeld tot een breed raamwerk, biedt het een verenigende paraplu over fuzzy sets, rough sets en intervalmethoden, waardoor analyse kan verschuiven naar het detailniveau dat een probleem daadwerkelijk vereist.
