Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA)
Het Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) is een op zwermen gebaseerde metaheuristiek, geïntroduceerd door Mirjalili en Lewis in 2016. Het modelleert de bubbelnet-jaagstrategie van bultruggen, waarbij een groep walvissen rond prooi spiraalt terwijl de omsingeling geleidelijk wordt aangescherpt. Het algoritme balanceert globale exploratie en lokale exploitatie via een kleine set parameters en wordt veelvuldig gebruikt voor continue technische optimalisatieproblemen.
