Paskaidrojamā objektu detektēšana apvieno dziļās mācīšanās objektu detektoru — piemēram, YOLO, Faster R-CNN vai DETR — ar pēcpārbaudes vai iebūvētām paskaidrojamības metodēm (Grad-CAM, LIME, SHAP, D-RISE), kas vizualizē, kāpēc modelis novietoja ierobežojošo kasti noteiktā vietā un piešķīra noteiktu klases marķējumu, padarot tā lēmumus pārbaudāmus cilvēkiem.
