온라인 군집 표본 추출은 고전적인 군집 표본 추출 논리를 인터넷 기반 연구에 적용합니다. 즉, 온라인 커뮤니티, 이메일 목록, 포럼 회원, 기관 사용자 등록부와 같은 자연적으로 발생하는 디지털 그룹을 군집으로 사용하고, 선택된 군집은 웹 기반 도구를 통해 전체 또는 부분적으로 조사됩니다. 개체에 대한 완전한 목록이 존재하지 않지만 디지털 그룹 목록에 접근할 수 있을 때 확률 기반 온라인 표본을 얻는 실용적인 경로를 제공합니다.
