네트워크 기반 과학계량학 분석은 출판물, 인용, 저자, 키워드와 같은 서지 데이터를 그래프 이론적 방법론에 적용하여 과학 분야의 지적 구조를 지도화합니다. 문서나 저자를 노드(node)로, 그 관계(인용, 공동 저술, 동시 출현 키워드)를 엣지(edge)로 모델링함으로써 지식 클러스터, 핵심 행위자, 신흥 주제, 학제 간 아이디어의 흐름을 드러냅니다. VOSviewer, Gephi, R 패키지 bibliometrix와 같은 도구가 일반적으로 사용됩니다.
