Equal-weight intervention mixed methods는 양적(quantitative) 및 질적(qualitative) 연구 흐름 모두에 동등한 우선순위를 부여하고 개입, 프로그램 또는 실험 내에 포함시키거나 병행하는 연구 설계입니다. 이 설계는 개입이 효과가 있는지(QUAN 결과)뿐만 아니라 어떻게, 왜 효과가 있거나 실패하는지(QUAL 과정)를 평가하며, 어느 한쪽 흐름도 부차적으로 취급하지 않습니다. 특히 프로그램 평가, 과정 요소를 포함하는 임상 시험, 교육 또는 사회적 개입에 적합합니다.
