임베디드 사례 중심 혼합 연구 설계는 사례 연구 분석 단위와 중첩된 혼합 연구 구조를 결합하며, 하나의 또는 여러 개의 경계가 명확한 사례를 중심으로 조직화된, 하나의 더 작은 데이터 흐름(일반적으로 질적 연구)을 지배적인 주 흐름(일반적으로 양적 연구) 내에 중첩시킨다. 이 설계는 연구자가 통계적 패턴과 특정 사례 또는 사례 집합에 대한 풍부한 맥락적 의미를 모두 포착하여, 사례 내 질문에 여러 수준에서 답할 수 있게 한다.
