비교 종단 연구
비교 종단 연구는 두 개 이상의 서로 다른 집단을 여러 시점에 걸쳐 추적하여, 결과가 시간에 따라 어떻게 변화하는지 그리고 그 궤적이 집단 간에 다른지를 연구자들이 관찰할 수 있게 한다. 종단 설계의 시간적 깊이와 비교 설계의 집단 간 대비를 결합함으로써, 이 접근법은 단일 시점에서 집단이 다른지 여부뿐만 아니라 관찰 기간 동안 집단이 분기되는지, 수렴하는지, 또는 다른 속도로 발전하는지를 탐지할 수 있다.
