선택적 코딩 — 근거 이론의 최종 통합 단계
선택적 코딩은 근거 이론의 세 번째이자 마지막 분석 단계로, 연구자는 개방 코딩과 축 코딩 중에 개발된 다른 모든 주요 범주를 통합하는 하나의 중심 또는 핵심 범주를 체계적으로 식별합니다. 그 결과는 연구 중인 주요 사회 과정이나 현상을 설명하는 일관되고 데이터에 근거한 실체 이론입니다. 1967년 Glaser와 Strauss에 의해 처음 공식화되었고 이후 1990년 Strauss와 Corbin, 그리고 2006년 Kathy Charmaz에 의해 정교화된 선택적 코딩은 파편화된 중간 수준의 범주를 통합된 이론적 설명으로 변환합니다.
