현장 기반 다중 사례 연구는 연구자가 두 개 이상의 경계가 명확한 실제 사례(케이스)에서 지속적이고 직접적인 조사를 수행하며, 직접 관찰, 인터뷰, 문서 분석을 통해 데이터를 수집하는 질적 연구 설계이다. 연구자는 사례 간 발견된 내용을 체계적으로 비교함으로써, 단일 사례 연구보다 더 견고하고 전이 가능한 분석 결론을 도출할 수 있다.
