현장 기반 해석 현상학 분석(Field-based Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis, Field IPA)은 표준 IPA에 데이터 수집을 자연주의적 현장 환경에 통합함으로써 이를 확장한 것이다. 경험이 일어난 장소에서 벗어나 회고적 인터뷰에만 의존하는 대신, 연구자는 실제 환경 — 교실, 진료실, 직장 또는 지역사회 공간 — 에 들어가 심층 인터뷰와 함께 현장 관찰, 인공물, 맥락 속 대화를 수집한다. 이는 참가자들이 경험이 펼쳐지는 순간과 장소에서 자신의 체험을 어떻게 이해하는지에 대한 더 풍부하고 상황에 맞는 설명을 생성한다.
