The quantitative phase carries greater priority; the qualitative phase is purposefully built around the findings — such as surprising results, outliers, or statistically significant relationships — that need deeper interpretation. | Survey research is a quantitative (and sometimes mixed-methods) design in which a researcher collects standardised self-report data from a sample drawn from a defined population, using a questionnaire or structured interview.
