プロセス・トレーシング
プロセス・トレーシングは、ジョージとベネット（2005）によって開発された質的研究手法であり、個別の事例における因果メカニズムと因果連鎖を研究するために用いられる。これは、仮説化された因果メカニズムが実際に作用したかどうかを推論するために、事例内の出来事と意思決定プロセスのシーケンスを調べることを含んでいる。プロセス・トレーシングは、相関関係を超えて、原因がどのように結果を生み出すかを理解することによって、事例研究における因果推論を強化することを目指している。
