| 概要≠ | Lactate threshold, also termed the onset of blood lactate accumulation (OBLA), is the exercise intensity at which blood lactate concentration increases rapidly and non-linearly. Initially defined by Klaus Wasserman in 1973, the concept describes the physiological transition from aerobic to anaerobic metabolism. As exercise intensity increases, lactate production and clearance remain balanced until a critical threshold is exceeded, after which lactate rapidly accumulates in the blood, signaling a shift toward anaerobic energy pathways. This parameter is crucial in endurance sports and clinical exercise assessment. | Critical power (CP) is the highest power output that can be sustained indefinitely without fatigue, representing the boundary between sustainable and unsustainable exercise. Introduced by Henry Monod and Scherrer in 1965, the critical power model describes the hyperbolic relationship between power output and time-to-exhaustion. The model partitions work capacity into two components: critical power (the aerobic ceiling) and anaerobic work capacity (the maximal work that can be performed above critical power before depletion). This framework is widely used in exercise physiology, sports science, and occupational biomechanics. |
