Studi peristiwa panel spasial memperluas desain studi peristiwa panel klasik ke dalam pengaturan di mana unit-unit berlokasi secara geografis dan hasil dapat tumpah ruah melintasi ruang. Dengan menggabungkan indikator waktu peristiwa dengan matriks bobot spasial, metode ini mengestimasi efek perlakuan dinamis sambil secara eksplisit memperhitungkan autokorelasi spasial, tumpahan geografis, dan kontaminasi antar-unit yang akan mendistorsi studi peristiwa konvensional.
