Kriterij loma Hoek-Brown

Kriterij Hoek-Brown, razvijen od strane Everta Hoeka i E. T. Browna počevši od 1980., jest empirijski kriterij loma koji predviđa posmičnu čvrstoću stijenske mase kao funkciju pritiska stezanja. Uzima u obzir kvalitetu stijene (preko Indeksa geološke čvrstoće, GSI) i stoga povezuje laboratorijsku mehaniku stijena i ponašanje u polju. Kriterij se široko koristi u rudarstvu za stabilnost kosina, projektiranje stupova i analizu naprezanja.
