Kristalnost celuloze

Kristalnost celuloze odnosi se na stupanj strukturnog reda u molekulama celuloze: visoko kristalna celuloza ima organizirane, gusto pakirane lance; amorfna celuloza ima neuređene lance. Mjerena difrakcijom rendgenskih zraka, kristalnost celuloze utječe na čvrstoću drva, krutost i probavljivost u procesima proizvodnje celuloze i enzimatskim procesima. Viša kristalnost korelira s većom čvrstoćom i nižom kemijskom reaktivnošću.
