The approach retains classic GT's commitment to emergent, inductive theory building — following the data without imposing a priori conceptual frameworks — while using visual materials to deepen and enrich participants' verbal accounts of their experiences. | Visual analysis is a qualitative research approach that systematically examines visual materials — such as photographs, films, artworks, advertisements, and diagrams — to understand how meaning is produced, communicated, and interpreted.
