| Sažetak≠ | The Orofacial Esthetic Scale (OES) is a multi-item instrument measuring perception of esthetic quality of teeth, smile, and facial appearance in relation to oral conditions. Developed across multiple research groups in orthodontic and restorative dentistry, the OES quantifies patient and clinician satisfaction with dental esthetics, guiding treatment planning and outcome assessment in cosmetic and orthodontic interventions. The OES captures the patient-centered esthetic perspective, complementing objective dental measurements and enabling assessment of esthetic outcome success. | The OHIP-14 is a 14-item, validated instrument measuring the impact of oral conditions on quality of life and functional well-being. Developed by Slade in 1997, it is a shortened form of the original 49-item OHIP and has become the gold standard for assessing oral health-related quality of life in clinical research and practice. It captures patient-centred outcomes across functional, psychological, and social dimensions. |
