תיוג תפקידים סמנטיים, שהוצג על ידי Gildea ו-Jurafsky בשנת 2002, הוא משימת עיבוד שפה טבעית המקצה תפקידים סמנטיים — מי עשה מה למי, היכן, מתי וכיצד — לרכיבים סביב פועל (נשוא) במשפט. הוא הופך טקסט רגיל לייצוגים מובנים של נשוא-ארגומנט והוא כלי יסוד לחילוץ אירועים.
