| Résumé≠ | The permutation test is a nonparametric resampling procedure that builds the sampling distribution of a test statistic directly from the data by repeatedly shuffling the group labels. Developed in the resampling tradition and treated systematically by Good (2005) and Edgington & Onghena (2007), it requires no parametric distributional assumption and yields an exact p-value. | The trimmed mean test compares two groups using trimmed means, which discard a fixed proportion of the most extreme observations in each tail before averaging. Introduced by Karen K. Yuen in 1974, it is a robust alternative to the classical t-test when the data are non-normal or contain outliers and the population variances are unequal. |
