تحلیل طبقهای نهفته بیزی، تحلیل طبقهای نهفته کلاسیک را با قرار دادن توزیعهای پیشین بر روی تمام پارامترهای مدل و استفاده از استنتاج پسین - معمولاً از طریق MCMC - برای طبقهبندی افراد به گروههای طبقهبندی نشده نهفته، کمیسازی عدم قطعیت پیرامون عضویت در طبقه، و انتخاب تعداد طبقات به روشی اصولی و احتمالی، گسترش میدهد.
