Polytome differenzielle Item-Funktion (DIF) erkennt, ob ein Test- oder Umfrageitem mit mehr als zwei geordneten Antwortkategorien (z. B. Likert-Skalen, Teil-Credit-Items) sich über Gruppen wie Geschlecht, Ethnie oder sprachlichen Hintergrund hinweg unterschiedlich verhält, nachdem die gemessene latente Eigenschaft kontrolliert wurde. Sie erweitert klassische binäre DIF-Methoden auf ordinale Antwortformate.
