Ækvivalenstest (TOST — Two One-Sided Tests)

Ækvivalenstesten, der anvender Two One-Sided Tests (TOST) proceduren, er en parametrisk hypotesetest designet til at påvise, at forskellen mellem to gruppemiddelværdier ligger inden for et forudspecificeret ækvivalensinterval ±Δ. TOST blev introduceret af Schuirmann (1987) i forbindelse med farmaceutisk bioækvivalens og vender logikken i klassisk nulhypotesetestning på hovedet: i stedet for at forsøge at påvise en forskel, giver den positiv evidens for lighed.
