Bayesiansk deskriptiv statistik opsummerer data ved at kombinere observeret information med forudgående viden via Bayes' sætning, hvilket resulterer i posterior-fordelinger for parametre som middelværdi og varians. I stedet for punkt-estimater og p-værdier udtrykkes resultater som posterior-middelværdier, medianer og troværdighedsintervaller, der har en direkte sandsynlighedstolkning.
