Bayesiansk mikrosimulering kombinerer individ-niveau simulering af heterogene populationer med Bayesiansk statistisk inferens. Hvert syntetisk individ følger en probabilistisk livsbane, mens modelparametre styres af forudgående overbevisninger, som opdateres med observerede data. Denne tilgang anvendes bredt inden for vurdering af sundhedsteknologi, omkostningsberegning for offentlig politik og demografiske fremskrivninger, hvor usikkerhed i både modelinput og strukturelle antagelser skal kvantificeres formelt og forplantes til outputestimater.
