Faktoranalyse til Skaludvikling

Eksploratorisk faktoranalyse (EFA) er en statistisk metode til at afdække den underliggende dimensionelle struktur af et sæt items eller variable. EFA, som blev pioneret af Louis Thurstone i midten af det 20. århundrede, anvendes bredt til at udvikle og validere psykometriske skalaer ved at identificere grupper af items, der korrelerer med hinanden, og derved afsløre latente dimensioner af den konstruktion, der måles. Metoden reducerer item-sæt til et mindre antal fortolkelige faktorer.
