Lagrangians analyse af drivtøj

Lagrangians analyse af drivtøj sporer vandparcelers bevægelse ved hjælp af overfladedrivtøj (bøjer med fastgjorte drivankre) til direkte måling af havstrømme. Denne metode, udviklet af Robert Davis i 1980'erne, giver direkte observation af vandparcelers trajektorier og muliggør estimering af hvirveldiffusivitet, transportveje og blanding. Drivtøjsdata supplerer Eulerianske (fastpunkts-) observationer ved at indfange det lagrangianske perspektiv af væskestrømning.
