Akustisk Doppler Strømprofiler

Den Akustiske Doppler Strømprofiler (ADCP) er et instrument, der anvender Doppler-forskudt akustisk tilbagekastning til at måle vandhastighedsprofiler langs en lodret profil. Udviklet af RD Instruments i 1980'erne er det blevet standardmetoden til højopløselig strømmåling i oceanografisk forskning. ADCP'er giver hidtil uset rumlig og tidslig opløsning af havstrømningsmønstre.
