Bayesiansk økologisk undersøgelse — Bayesiansk sygdomskartlægning og økologisk regression

En Bayesiansk økologisk undersøgelse kombinerer den gruppeniveau-observationsdesign, der kendetegner klassisk økologisk epidemiologi, med Bayesiansk hierarkisk modellering. I stedet for at behandle sygdomsrater som faste kvantiteter, placeres prior-fordelinger over latente rumlige eller tidslige effekter — almindeligvis ved brug af Besag-York-Mollié (BYM) konvolutionsprior — og overbevisninger opdateres ud fra aggregerede data for at producere posterior-kort over sygdomsrisiko, udjævnede rateestimater og troværdighedsintervaller for økologiske sammenhænge mellem eksponeringer og udfald.
