সক্রিয় শিখন এবং স্ব-পর্যবেক্ষিত শিখনের সমন্বয়, লেবেলবিহীন ডেটা ব্যবহার করে স্ব-পর্যবেক্ষিত প্রাক-প্রশিক্ষণের মাধ্যমে সমৃদ্ধ উপস্থাপনা (representation) তৈরি করে। এরপর সক্রিয় অনুসন্ধানী কৌশল (active query strategy) ব্যবহার করে মানব টীকা (annotation)-র জন্য সবচেয়ে তথ্যপূর্ণ উদাহরণগুলি নির্বাচন করা হয়, যা সীমিত লেবেলিং বাজেটের মধ্যে মডেলের কর্মক্ষমতা সর্বাধিক করে। এই মিশ্র পদ্ধতিটি বিশেষভাবে শক্তিশালী যখন লেবেলযুক্ত ডেটা দুষ্প্রাপ্য কিন্তু লেবেলবিহীন ডেটার বিশাল ভাণ্ডার বিদ্যমান থাকে।
