روائح البنية المعمارية هي أنماط متكررة في هيكل النظام تشير إلى مشاكل تصميم محتملة. قدمها غارسيا وآخرون (2009)، وتشير هذه الأنماط إلى انتهاكات للمبادئ المعمارية (النمطية، الاستقلالية، التجريد) على نطاق النظام. يجمع الاكتشاف بين مقاييس التعليمات البرمجية، وتحليل التبعية، والتعرف على الأنماط لتحديد الروائح مبكرًا، وتوجيه إعادة الهيكلة والتحسينات المعمارية.
