يطبق تحليل البنود البايزي الاستدلال البايزي لتقدير إحصائيات على مستوى البند - الصعوبة والتمييز وفعالية المشتت - عن طريق الجمع بين بيانات الاستجابة المرصودة والمعرفة المسبقة. ينتج توزيعات خلفية كاملة لمعلمات البند بدلاً من تقديرات نقطية واحدة، مما يوفر معلومات أغنى عن عدم اليقين خاصة مع العينات الصغيرة.
