多案例基础的单案例研究（也称为内嵌式单案例设计）是一种定性研究策略，研究者在一个有界限的案例（分析的主要单元）中，系统地考察其内部的多个内嵌子单元。该设计不进行多个独立案例的比较研究，而是将所有分析注意力集中在一个总括性案例上，同时利用其内部子单元的变化来建立对该单一案例更丰富、更稳健的理解。
