การวัดความหมายโดยนัย (Semantic Differential) เป็นเทคนิคการวัดทัศนคติที่ประเมินความหมายโดยนัย (นัยทางอารมณ์และการประเมินค่า) ของแนวคิดต่างๆ ผ่านการให้คะแนนบนมาตรวัดคำคุณศัพท์แบบขั้วตรงข้ามหลายรายการ เทคนิคนี้พัฒนาโดย Osgood, Suci และ Tannenbaum ในทศวรรษที่ 1950 เผยให้เห็นโครงสร้างทางอารมณ์ที่อยู่เบื้องหลังการรับรู้แนวคิดของผู้คน ไม่เพียงแต่สิ่งที่พวกเขาคิด แต่ยังรวมถึงความรู้สึกของพวกเขาต่อผู้คน แบรนด์ แนวคิด หรือนโยบายต่างๆ
