การลบฉากหลัง (Background subtraction) เป็นเทคนิคการประมวลผลวิดีโอที่แยกวัตถุที่เคลื่อนไหวจากฉากหลังที่อยู่นิ่งหรือเปลี่ยนแปลงช้า โดยการเปรียบเทียบแต่ละเฟรมกับแบบจำลองฉากหลังที่ได้เรียนรู้หรือประมาณค่าไว้ การลบฉากหลังถูกนำไปใช้อย่างกว้างขวางในการเฝ้าระวังวิดีโอและการตรวจจับความเคลื่อนไหว ช่วยให้สามารถตรวจจับวัตถุที่อยู่ด้านหน้าได้อย่างแม่นยำแม้ในฉากที่ซับซ้อนซึ่งมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของแสง
