Algorithimu ya Firefly (FA), iliyoanzishwa na Xin-She Yang mwaka 2008 na kuchapishwa rasmi mwaka 2010, ni metaheuristiki ya kundi iliyoongozwa na asili ambayo huunda tabia ya kuvutia ya mng'aro wa biolojia wa firefly. Kila suluhisho mbadala ni firefly ambaye mwangaza wake unawakilisha thamani ya utendaji wake wa lengo; fireflies hafifu huenda kuelekea zile zenye mwangaza zaidi kwa nguvu ya kuvutia ambayo hupungua kwa umbali, ikisukuma kundi kuelekea maeneo bora bila taarifa za mteremko.
